Pick-Up Lines/ Pinoy Banat: Kilig Bits of the 21st Century (Filipino Edition)
Years ago, Men usually seranades his lover in the middle of the night outside her home seeking attention from the neighbors and the family so that he can prove and speak to the world of his genuine love for the woman. But as time goes by, men realize it was very boring and a total embarrasment especially when they don’t have the guts and talent to sing, chant or even play the guitar.
That is why, Nowadays teenagers use different strategies on how to impress there lover like giving one stem of rose, sharing an anonymous brand of chocolate and even a simple hug and a kiss on the cheek other than the ancient way of courting. It is also proven to give an unusual spark to any relationships in the world.
But in the Philippines, we have a different edge on how you can catch that “kilig” vibe in a fun and easy way. They call it “ PINOY PICK UP LINES or PINOY BANATS ”
Pick up Lines are composed of typical word with complex meanings and relative sentences about love and admiration which gives us that tingling sensation.
Here are some examples:
- Coke ka ba? (bakit?) Kasi sakto ka na nga sa puso ko, Happiness ka pa ng buhay ko.
- Ayokong bola-hin ka, baka kasi tumalbog ka, makuha pa ng iba.
- Ang pagmamahal ko para sayo ay parang kabilang classroom, Ibang Klase!
- Alam mo para tayong EDSA, Made for EDSAther.
- Sana ulan ka at lupa na lang ako. Para kahit gaano kalakas ang patak mo, sa akin parin ang bagsak mo.
- Tara punta tayo ng sementeryo (bakit?) Para makita mo ang puso kong patay na patay sayo.
- Philippine Flag ka ba? (bakit?) Kasi tuwing nakikita kita napapalagay ang kamay ko sa puso ko.
Pinoy Banats undoubtfully trends nationwide and it gradually invades other dialects in the world, like in English. Nevertheless, those of the “pinoy” is the most famous, that is why I’am proud to say,
